Brain Break

Please join us in the Library Brain Booth for a new Brain Bytes pop-up experience. Each training date focuses on introducing the use of one tool or activity that supports participants taking an intentional brain break. No need to spend an entire hour with us, but you're welcome to! Brain Bytes are designed to remind us that mindfulness can be cultivated with a few dedicated minutes each workday, and those few minutes can be anywhere. You're invited to drop-by and experiment with us in a public group setting for as little as five minutes.

The Library Brain Booth seeks to introduce the Cal Poly Humboldt community to international scientific research on the effects of mindfulness, attention, and contemplation through hands-on tools and activities in an informal, experiential setting. Although the Library Brain Booth recognizes the contributions of people of all faiths and backgrounds to mindfulness practices, it has no religious affiliation. People of all abilities, cultures, and faiths are welcome in the Library Brain Booth. Please note that observational research is being conducted to identify levels of engagement with activities and technologies for all Library Brain Booth visitors. Visitors will be asked to consent to participating in the research study at the start of their visit to the Library Brain Booth.

We encourage you to visit the website to learn more about the tools available, some of the scientific literature on mindfulness, our curated collection of books & videos to support your learning off-campus, and the ongoing research study.
