In this webcast, Juliet Hwang, MD at Kaiser Permanente presents:
“An Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation”, February 28 from 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. PT
Dr. Hwang will share what mindfulness is and how we can use it in our every day lives, with our families, and at work. She will explain brain physiology, and discuss the effects of stress and trauma. Understand key techniques and the benefits of deep listening and mindful speech when communicating with others. Learn practices you can use everyday to reduce stress, enhance awareness, focus and ultimately, create more happiness in your life.
Juliet Hwang is a pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente South Bay located in Carson . She believes in treating the whole person and not just the disease. She has been practicing mindfulness meditation since 2004. She incorporates mindfulness into her clinical practice to help teens and their parents cope with anxiety and stress. She has also been teaching mindfulness to health care providers for many years to promote resilience. Juliet was ordained in 2011 in tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh and the International Plum Village Sangha. Currently she is part of the Physician Wellness Committee to address physician burn out and promote physician well being.
