Celebrating Women's History Month
“A Brief History of Women in Higher Education”, by author Jone Johnson Lewis, highlights the long path that has led women to earn more than half of all higher education degrees today. Yet despite significant gains for women’s access to higher education, women still lag behind men in many professions, particularly in positions of leadership. Only 41 Fortune 500 companies are led by women. In the technology field, some 60% of start-ups have no women serving in leadership positions. And in higher education, women occupy less than 40% of executive level positions, most often in lower-level executive positions.
