Lifting Each Other Up: Building a Culture of Support
In every corner of the CSU community, we thrive not just because of what we do individually, but because of how we lift each other up. A culture of support doesn’t just happen—it’s something we build, nurture, and practice every day. Whether it’s a colleague offering a few words of encouragement before a big presentation or a supervisor taking the time to listen and guide, these small moments create ripples that strengthen our entire campus community.
As we head deeper into the fall semester, it’s a good time to pause and think about how we show support to those around us. Collaboration, kindness, and open communication go a long way toward creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and seen. Programs like the Cross-Campus Collaboration courses are great examples of this in action—they bring together professionals from across the CSU system to share ideas, build skills, and learn from each other in an atmosphere of mutual growth.
Support also means taking care of ourselves so we can better care for others. The Employee Assistance Program is available to all employees and provides confidential support for managing stress, navigating challenges, or simply maintaining emotional balance. It’s a reminder that wellbeing and community go hand in hand.
As we move through this season of gratitude and connection, let’s make it a point to lift each other up—through kindness, mentorship, teamwork, and compassion. Together, we can create a CSU culture where everyone has the space and support they need to shine.
