Resilience

A significant number of students, staff and faculty are successful due/despite having to overcoming enormous obstacles. In particular, these individuals may come from "non-privileged" backgrounds and realities. What assisted them to become successful? What are protective factors? The presenter will draw upon on his own research with Indigenous communities, his personal story, as well as his years of working as a trained social worker on the Northcoast. Participants will hone their skills to respectfully identify, engage with and understand more fully individuals who have overcome obstacles to be successful.
